Colours of History

This new series relies heavily on the primal. Pigments mined from the earth are combined
with walnut oil before being united with a cold beeswax medium. Inherent colours, seen in prehistoric times, are then able to resurface in textured vigor. Feel the deep cool of an
Egyptian tomb and hear the echo of stone on a cave wall as you gaze into the colours of
history. Even as layers of colour are created, they are deconstructed by scraping through to original base coats. Understand that although the Renaissance brought synthetic materials, sometimes the past, albeit gone, can never be fully repressed.
